Anne Saxon, Founding Artistic Director

                           Anne M. Saxon is currently the Director of the Children’s and Youth Choir
                           Program at Centenary United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem. She
                           has served numerous churches and schools in the NC Triad area, most
                           recently as the Choral Director at the Downtown Elementary School.

                           Anne earned a Master of Music Degree in Choral Conducting from UNC
                           Greensboro, and a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Greensboro
                           College, Piano Applied. At UNCG she studied with Drs. Bill Carroll, Richard
                           Cox, and Hilary Apfelstadt, and she directed the Women’s Glee Club. She
has completed further study in conducting with Paul Salamunovich, Anton Armstrong, Lynne
Gackle, Henry Leck, and Daniel Bara. She holds a Level 3 Certification in Doreen Rao's
Choral Music Experience, and Level 2 Certification in the Chorister’s Guild Institute.

In the NC Chapter of the American Choral Director’s Association, Anne has been a
Repertoire &Standards Chair for Junior High/Middle School Choirs and Children's Choirs.
Her work as their current Newsletter Editor received an award for the Most Improved
Newsletter at the 2009 National Convention in Oklahoma City. With the NC Music Educator’s
Association, she has served on the Middle School Choral Section Board as the Newsletter
Editor, and as a Festival Site Coordinator.

Anne has been honored with a Commemorative Brick on the MENC “Walk of Fame” for her
25 years of attendance at the NC Summer Institute in Choral Arts where she was a member
of the executive board. She now serves on the board of CANTUS, an Ecumenical Children’s
Choir Camp in North Carolina. She is a frequent guest conductor and piano accompanist for
Honor and Festival Choirs, as well as an adjudicator for choral festivals



Christin Barnhardt, Assistant Director

                            Christin Barnhardt is the Director of Music Ministries at St Timothy’s
                            Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem. She previously served as
                            Minister of Music at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Princeton,
                            NJ, and has participated in music programs at Centenary United
                            Methodist in Winston-Salem, Faith United Methodist in Rural Hall, St.
                            Paul’s Episcopal in Paterson, NJ, and Cathedral of St. John the
                            Divine in NYC.

                            During her undergraduate studies at Salem College, Christin studied
piano with Barbara Lister-Sink. While there she assisted with intense training workshops in
well-coordinated and injury-preventive piano technique. She then served as an AmeriCorps
Member in Paterson, NJ, for a year before beginning her studies at Westminster Choir
College in Princeton. She earned her Masters Degree in Sacred Music and Piano
Performance & Pedagogy at Westminster where she studied piano with Phyllis Lehrer and
Jim Goldsworthy and conducting with Sun Min Lee, Steve Pilkington, Andrew Megill, and Joe
Miller. This past summer she completed Level 1 at the Chorister’s Guild Institute, studying
choral conducting with Anton Armstrong.

Christin has taught piano privately and at the Westminster Conservatory. Her main duties
with CCCC are directing ENCORE, the advanced choir, as well as serving as the Assistant to
the Artistic Director.  


Sarah Dunlap, Music Makers Class Teacher

                 
 Sarah Dunlap earned undergraduate degrees from Appalachian State
                           University in Music Education and Spanish, as well as a Master’s Degree
                           in Elementary General Music. Sarah has Orff Certification in both Levels
                           1 and 11. This past spring she taught general music and chorus at
                           Whitaker Elementary School in Winston- Salem, and is currently the
                           Children’s and Youth Choir Director at Holy Family Catholic Church in
                           Clemmons. We are pleased and delighted to welcome Sarah to our
                           CCCC Artistic Staff!


Cynthia Saylor, Accompanist

                           Cynthia Saylor joined the Central Carolina Children’s Chorus Staff
                           in the fall of 2004. She brings with her a life-long passion and
                           dedication to music and accompanying. Ms. Saylor is a Medical
                           Technologist for Spectrum Laboratory Network at Forsyth Medical
                           Center. She is also the Music Leader for the Fountain of Life
                           Lutheran Church in Kernersville, North Carolina. Now in her fifth year
                           with the Central Carolina Children's Chorus, Ms. Saylor is highly regarded
and well-loved! We are indeed delighted and fortunate to have her with us for another
season!
